The EIT Climate-KIC & EIT Digital Sustainable Cities Climate Impact Challenge 2023 is now accepting applications. In order to find effective and cutting-edge projects that aim to decarbonize urban transportation and hasten the adoption of active, shared, collective, and/or electric mobility, EIT Digital and EIT Climate-KIC are launching the Sustainable Cities Climate Impact Challenge for European cities.
The challenge, sponsored by FedEx, aims to create a more sustainable future by scaling up creative ideas to lessen smog, noise, and traffic in the world’s cities with the greatest population growth. According to the goals of the European Green Deal, Urban Mobility Framework, and EU Cities Mission, this initiative tends to promote the shift to cleaner, greener, and smarter mobility.
Eligibility
Cities having a population of at least 25,000 in EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are eligible to apply.
The submission of proposals should come from city councils, municipalities (including those owned by municipalities), or local authorities, and should be accompanied by a letter from the mayor or other local official or other documentation of a senior political official’s support or mandate (not required from organizations already working on a city/municipality mandate).
Grant
Depending on the overall number of submissions chosen in the request, each city challenge will get between USD$50,000 and USD$75,000 in funding. The highest award per project, however, will not exceed $75,000 USD.
Application
